Jasper National Park

Last weekend I made a trip to Jasper National Park with some friends of mine. We started Friday evening after work.

Jasper is about 400km away from Edmonton. The first night we stayed in a motel in Edson, a small town near the highway.

Saturday morning we finally arrived at Jasper National Park. The Rocky Mountains are really impressive! There weren´t many visitors besides us in the Park and we could enjoy the peace and quiet. We went hiking and had a lot of fun in the snow.

The second night we spent in a youth hostel. We had no running water but a campfire at night.
The guy of the hostel advised us not to roast
marsh-
mallows over the fire. The bears are still hibernating but the smell of roasted marsh-mallows attracts also the wolves` attention...

On Sunday morning we visited the Athabasca Falls.
With only 24 meters it is not very high, but the size of the river makes it one of the most powerful falls to be found in the mountain national parks of Canada.
Due to the time of year it was still frozen but although gorgeous.

I´m pretty sure that this wasn´t my last time at Jasper National Park...

Hallo,

die Bilder und Eindrücke sind toll-Die Statistik - "Which mountains are more beautiful?" - wurde aus lokalpatriotischen Gründen völlig verfälscht.
